ISBN

An ISBN is a ten digit number (with groups of digits separated by a hyphen) used to identify an independent document, i.e. a monograph. 

Examples:
3-05-002436-4
3-404-60133-5

You do not need to enter the hyphen(s) when searching for an ISBN or ISSN.

You can abbreviate an ISBN using a "*". 

Examples:
305*
3404601*
0959*
