This category can be used to restrict a search based on a category or categories selected from the upper part of the search screen (e.g. Person or Title keyword). However, you can also carry out a search based on the name of a publisher only.

In some cases a book is published by more than one publisher. Please note that in such cases a search can be based only on the first name on the list of publishers. If a the name of a publishing house is derived from the name of its founder often only the family name is recorded. I some cases publishers´ names are abbreviated.

You can abbreviate a name using a "*" so that differing spellings, singular/plural, genitives etc. can be included in the search.
