7th edition of the Thesaurus Ethics in the Life Sciences: XML format now available!
12/01/2011 - The seventh edition of the Thesaurus Ethics in the Life Sciences is now available for download in XML format. After accepting the licensing conditions the XML file can be accessed in the download area for the integration of the Thesaurus into existing databases or other means of implementation.

10/01/2011 - The new and extensively revised edition of the trilingual Thesaurus Ethics in the Life Sciences is now available online. After the last meeting of the Thesaurus Editorial Team the Thesaurus has been revised and a great number of new descriptors (keywords) and explanatory scope notes have been added.
By the middle of January, the seventh edition of the Thesaurus will also be available for download in XML format. After accepting the licensing conditions the XML file can be accessed in the download area.

4th edition of the Thesaurus Ethics in the Life Sciences online!
27/09/2007 - The new and extensively revised edition of the trilingual Thesaurus Ethics in the Life Sciences is now available online. After the last meeting of the Thesaurus Editorial Team the Thesaurus has been revised and a great number of new explanatory scope notes have been added. The fourth edition of the Thesaurus Ethics in the Life Sciences is also available for download in XML format. After accepting the licensing conditions the XML file can be accessed in the download area.
The online version of the Thesaurus is now offering a new search function: the concordance search allows users to search for descriptors in the reference thesauri, to which the Thesaurus provides concordances. The descriptors in the reference thesauri lead users to the equivalent descriptors in the Thesaurus which cover the same or similar concepts.
Erratum: English PDF file and print version of 3rd edition
25/09/2007 - In the English PDF file and print version of the 3rd edition of the Thesaurus Ethics in the Life Sciences page 133 in the alphabetical list of descriptors and non-descriptors has been replaced by mistake. The erratum is available for download as PDF file. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

24/10/2005 - Apart from the already available XML format the second edition of the Thesaurus Ethics in the Life Sciences is now also ready for download as PDF file. The PDF format is identical with the current print version of the Thesaurus.

31/08/2005 - The new and completely revised online edition of the Thesaurus Ethics in the Life Sciences is now available. In 2004 the first edition was published bilingually in English and German. The new 2005 edition is now also published in French. After the last meeting of the Thesaurus Editorial Team the Thesaurus has been completely revised. Moreover, a great number of new explanatory scope notes have been added. Users who would like to be kept informed about developments concerning the Thesaurus will receive an email via the Thesaurus mailing list. XML download format and new basket function now available!
29/12/2004 - The online version of the Thesaurus Ethics in the Life Sciences is now offering two new functions which will considerably facilitate both the integration of the Thesaurus into existing indexing systems and the indexing work itself.
XML file
Apart from the already available PDF file the Thesaurus is now also ready for download as XML export. This allows for the Thesaurus to be directly integrated into existing databases, indexing systems or any other type of implementation approach. After accepting the licensing conditions the XML file is available in the download area.
Basket function
In order to make indexing with the online version of the Thesaurus easier and more comfortable, a basket function has been included and is now ready for use. Via the basket function, indexers can first collect their choice of descriptors in the basket and then edit and prepare the group of chosen descriptors for import into the respective indexing systems. Time-consuming copying and editing of individual descriptors is no longer necessary. The basket will help to considerably accelerate and facilitate indexing. For information on the basket function please refer to the help pages as well as the relevant pages of the Thesaurus. As with all Thesaurus functions we are constantly in the process of developing and improving it for practical use.
