In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has become one of the most dynamic areas of innovation in medicine. In radiological diagnostics in particular, which relies heavily on the processing of complex image data, AI-based methods are being discussed as promising tools to support medical work. Applications range from the optimization of imaging procedures to the detection and classification of abnormalities to support in triage and prioritization decisions. At the same time, the use of such systems raises fundamental medical, ethical, and legal questions that go far beyond technical performance parameters.
