In accordance with the Preimplantation Diagnostics Ordinance (PIDV), a central office has been set up at the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut (PEI), which is responsible for recording and documenting the measures carried out as part of a PGD.

The Paul-Ehrlich-Institut (PEI), the Federal Institute for Vaccines and Biomedicines, is a senior federal authority reporting to the Federal Ministry of Health (Bundesministerium für Gesundheit, BMG).
