The German Federal Parliament had to choose from three different draft laws concerning the revision of the PID at its session on July 7th, 2011. The majority of the delegates voted for a limited approval of the PID (draft of a law regarding the limited approval of the PID), which eventually gives couples with an inherited disposition for severe genetic diseases a chance to be expecting a child which will not be affected by these genetic diseases.
