Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) involves the direct injection of a single previously isolated sperm into the oocyte by means of a cannula. The advantage of ICSI is a minimisation of the risk of adding genetic material of sperm not used for fertilisation, which could lead to a falsification of the results of the diagnosis.
